President's Message

Dear ISPRES Members, Colleagues, and Friends,

It is my great pleasure and privilege to address you as President of the International Society of Plastic Regenerative Surgeons (ISPRES).

I am delighted to invite you to the ISPRES Congress 2026, which will take place from July 10–12, 2026, in Shanghai, China — a vibrant international city and an ideal setting for what promises to be an outstanding scientific and collegial gathering.

A congress of this caliber, held in conjunction with the Chinese Society of Adipose Plastic Surgeons (CSAPS), is only possible through the dedication, expertise and commitment of many individuals. I would therefore like to express my sincere gratitude to everyone who has contributed to making this meeting a reality.

My special thanks go to Prof. Kotaro Yoshimura, who has assembled an outstanding scientific program. His scientific leadership, vision and unwavering commitment to excellence are reflected throughout the program, which promises to showcase the latest advances in regenerative plastic surgery.

I would also like to warmly thank Prof. Jian-Xing Song, our local host, for creating an exceptional environment for both scientific exchange and collegial interaction. Together with an inspiring social and cultural program, I am certain that our time in Shanghai will be a memorable experience for all participants.

A very special acknowledgment goes to our President-Elect, Stefania de Fazio, MD, whose initiative and leadership have been instrumental in establishing both the Coleman Prize and the Best Paper Session. These important additions further strengthen the scientific profile of our congress and reflect ISPRES’s continued commitment to excellence.

I would also like to recognize our National Delegates, who serve as the essential link between ISPRES and their respective national societies. Their commitment ensures that ISPRES remains a truly international society, strengthening collaboration and scientific exchange across continents.

Finally, I extend my warmest welcome to all colleagues who have registered to attend the Congress. Your participation is the foundation of our society, and I look forward to meeting each of you personally in Shanghai.

At a time of profound transformation in medicine — and particularly in regenerative plastic surgery — we have both an opportunity and a responsibility to shape the future of our specialty. I therefore look forward with great enthusiasm to our upcoming Board of Directors Meeting, where we will discuss the continued development and strategic direction of ISPRES.

Since its foundation in 2011 in Vancouver, Canada, ISPRES has evolved into one of the world’s leading scientific societies dedicated to regenerative plastic surgery. This achievement reflects the vision of our founding members and the commitment of the many distinguished colleagues who have contributed to our society over the past fifteen years. Our mission remains unchanged: to advance regenerative plastic surgery through scientific excellence, innovation, education, and international collaboration. As new technologies, biologic therapies, artificial intelligence, and translational research continue to reshape our specialty, ISPRES must remain at the forefront of these developments.

At the same time, excellence requires continuous evolution. Several thoughtful proposals for the continued evolution of our society have recently been put forward, including valuable initiatives from professors Tim Papadopoulos, MD, and Aris Sterodimas, MD, MSC, PhD, ARCS. These ideas will help guide our discussions as we continue to strengthen ISPRES for the years ahead.

I look forward to the outstanding scientific presentations and stimulating discussions that will undoubtedly showcase the current state of the art in regenerative plastic surgery. More importantly, I look forward to the conversations, collaborations and friendships that continue to define our society.

The best of ISPRES is still ahead of us, and I warmly invite you to be part of this exciting journey. I look forward to welcoming you personally in Shanghai.
